Banned Book Reflection
1) How challenging was this project for you? Be specific.
This project wasn't very challenging for me. I thought that it was pretty clear what it was that we were required to do and didn't have any problems reflecting on what I read. I also set dates for myself to make sure that I had this or that so that I could meet all the requirements on time and wouldn't end up doing the whole project in one week.
2) What was the easiest part of this project?
The easiest part for me was doing the reflections for the reading. I felt like the questions we were supposed to answer for the reading responses weren’t very hard to answer and I think it was easy for me to talk about what I was reading.
3) How comfortable did you feel while making your film?
I felt Pretty comfortable in my video. I think that My video wasn't super interesting but I think that it was ok because I was straight to the point and met the requirements.
4) Did you receive critique and feedback from anyone (teacher, parent, classmate, etc)? If so, who? Was the feedback helpful? (This could be for any part of the project, journal, or video)
For my video I filmed with one of my friends so that I could get critique and have somebody help me with the filming. He did give me some critique and this helped me to make sure that I didn't have any errors and that what I was saying didn't only sound good in my head.
5) Did you provide kind, specific, and helpful feedback in the journal workshops? Were these sessions helpful and/or fun?
I did give some critique for one of my classmates on his journal. I think that this was helpful for him and was kinda interesting to hear about another book that somebody else was reading. This was also helpful for me to see what other people were saying about their book and to see if it was similar to what I was saying.
6) Did you actually read the book you chose?
Yes I did and I actually really enjoyed it and found it to have some really interesting parts that gave me a really interesting perspective. I actually thought a lot about this book while reading it just thinking about really how unrealistic it was or even if it wasn't something that could happen.
7) What grade do you think you deserve? Why?
I think that I deserve an A because I met all the requirements and turned them in on time. I took my time and put honest responses in for the reading responses and made a video that was longer than a minute and showed how I felt about my banned book and whether I thought it should be banned or not.
8) If you could change something about this project, what would it be?
If I could have changed one thing about this project i think it would have been for the reading responses we could have maybe had more options on how to reflect or talk about what was going on in our book rather than just taking a quote and reflecting on it.
